Installing EM V5.2 Client Only (no server)

Hi,

I am fast on my way to the funny farm trying to set up EM 5.2 client only.

The documentation I have is all geared to a client/server configuration, not my humble needs.

I am getting adhoc support but I am left asking myself surely (hopefully) there is an easier way to all of it.

Has anyone got any their hands on installation instructions specifically for a desktop only installation of EM5.2?

I think it is the post installation configuration that is the issue for me. Everything relies on server details when I don't have one (or my desktop has that role, I dunno).

Hello CaptGrumpy! I have EM v5.3 installed on my laptop and also had v5.1 prior to that. It was necessary to work directly with SAS and allow a remote desktop connection to resolve my configurations. There are special considerations to how the userid is set up and authorizations in Management Console. Also the SAS services through systems configuration. I'm not sure we ended up with a procedure, but I will post my SAS ticket number after I get to work as a reference point for SAS Tech.

Thanks T-Rex, yep, looks like i am going to have to spend a day on this one with SAS support. I'll probably have to wait a week to be able to free up the time.

It's a shame a Client only installation isn't simpler.

Everything was going fine until the smartobject.xml bit, I did not have it on my drive. Could be a 5.2 thing.
