Splines in Enterprise Miner

Hi,

I'm new to SAS and Enterprise Miner, so I apologise if this is a stupid question.

I'd like to create a model in E-Miner that splines one input variable against another. I know I could create the spline in Enterprise Guide, save it to a new dataset then use that in E-Miner, but is there any way to create the splined variable directly in E-Miner without using Enterprise Guide?

You could use an E-Miner Code Node and write the solution in Base SAS. If you are not a Base SAS programmer, then you should be able to export the SAS code from EG and paste it into the EM Code Node. If you make the Code Node abstract enough using the E-Miner macro references, then you could create an extension utility node that is reusable. These techniques are discussed in course material for "Extending E-Miner."
