Difficulty connecting to oracle database

Hi.

When we try connect to an ORACLE database via DATA MANAGEMENT STUDIO, the error "[DATAFLUX][ODBC Wire Protocol driver]ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol" is displayed.

What will happen?

I can't explain why your getting that error but a quick search of our technical support tracks suggested the following possible resolutions:

1. Add the following lines to sqlnet.ora file on the server:

SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER=8
SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_CLIENT=8
Then restart Oracle TNS Listener

or

2. Use "DataFlux Oracle Driver" instead of the "DataFlux Oracle Wire Protocol Driver"
