Hi:

 Please review the video I posted. You must make a reservation to get into the Virtual Lab. The D drive in the Virtual Lab has everything you need. You must repeat ALL the setup steps that I show in the video. If you are successful, you will have the DEVELOP data and 2 other datasets in the PMLR library, as shown at timestamp 4:27 in the video, see the screen shot below:

You will not be able to do the exercises in this class until after you run the steps to make the LIBRARY in the Virtual Lab.

Hi:
We have just gotten a request to the Education inbox on this same issue. We are contacting that student directly. If you are using the Virtual Lab in the Data Science Academy for this work, then the D drive, workshop folder is available and you should be able to make a folder shortcut exactly as specified in the setup instructions. We are responding by separate email to the original inquiry.

 For other students having this same setup issue with the Predictive Modeling class, here's a video that shows the entire setup process for the class data in this class in the SAS Academy for Data Science: http://youtu.be/DoK-cGRcXts?hd=1 .

Hope this helps,
Cynthia

Exploring the Data, How to explore the data ?

Example: Examine the develop data set by generating descriptive statistics and frequency tables.
The DATA step reads in the original data and creates a data set in the Work library. This prevents
writing over the original data.

As the develop data set is not with me , how to get that

Hi:
When I made the video that was posted in April, I was using a Virtual Lab image for our SAS Academy for Data Science Virtual Lab. There IS a D drive on that image.
How are you using the Virtual Lab? When you see the VLE banner at the top of the page, are you inside the Advanced Analytics Professional level of the SAS Academy for Data Science, or are you inside a "stand-alone" version of the Predictive Modeling course? If you are inside the SAS Academy for Data Science and using that image for the Advanced Analytics Professional classes, then I can assure you that there is a D drive in that Virtual Lab.
However, if you are using one of the free methods of using SAS -- such as SAS University Edition in a Virtual Machine or SAS OnDemand for Academics on our cloud server, then you will NOT have a D drive in SAS Studio. Since you posted this issue in the Academy for Data Science forum, I am assuming that you are using the Data Science Virtual Lab. However, the Predictive Modeling course is also available as a "stand-alone" course for students and professors to use and in this case, they would use an e-learning class which would have a zip file that needed to be downloaded.
Can you clarify EXACTLY how you are getting into the Virtual Lab? Did you purchase the SAS Academy for Data Science or are you inside the SAS Academy free trial? If so, then you still should find a D drive in the Virtual Lab.
On the other hand, if you are using one of our free methods of using SAS or you are using an installation of SAS from your work or school license, then you will NOT find a D drive and you will need to find other instructions.
In order to help you we need more information. Please send the following information to elearn@sas.com:
=== ===
Student Name:
Student Email:
Platform: (elearning, Academic Hub or SAS Academy for Data Science)
Full title of class:
URL at the top of screen, when you first enter the class and see the Table of Contents:
=== ===

Please do NOT post your email here in the Forum. If you will send the above information to elearn@sas.com, your mail will open a track and we can figure out exactly how you are using SAS and help you figure out the right method to get the data for class.

Cynthia
