Is this a SAS question?

Are there equal number of observations in each cell?

The effect of B would (assuming equal number of observations in each cell) would be (4+3)/2 – (1+6)/2.

Hello, I haven't been able to find out how to calculate the effect (-1 or +1) for a factor within the Experimentation Section.

For the following Means (this is a chart, A is across and B is down the side):

           A

       4 3

B

      1 6

How do I calculate the effect of B? Do I look at the row that has 1 and 6 and say that it is increasing, so it is +1? What would the effect of AB be? How do I calculate the effect of A?

All the documentation I find gives the effect, so the charts show the -1 +1, but there is no description on how to calculate it. Thank you!

Brad,

This is a SAS Experimentation Question. The answer would be +1 or -1.
