The pentameter for this Poem is to the "Night before Christmas"

Running my SAS code, for the last time this week,

Hoping for no bugs, that I would have to tweak,

The SQL statements aligned in the EG software,

In hopes that my Results would soon be able to share,

The semi colons were correctly placed at the end of each line,

Ensuring the syntax was clear and well defined,

I hunted and I pecked until my code was solidly built,

I thought this project was playing tricks to the hilt,

My IF - Then, Proc Print, and Data subroutines all started to distort,

So I searched through my notes and came upon Proc Sort,

With my facts and figures tabulated and exported to a spreadsheet,

I would advise the Executives of the Fraud story that was complete,

The data may not always take the path we thought and we shrug,

But that is the reason we share and collaborate with our Fellow Analysts in IHUG

The second one I created which is based on the British SAS (Special Air Service) Poem I found.

What manner of syntax are these?

This code that has been debugged line by line

The compiler becomes the source of pride

To provide the results that led to this point in time.

To become certified and join the ranks you have to prove

You can pass the test and code with an order that is clear

To know that you can be trusted with the data

And present your findings to the Executives without any fear.

The data manipulation is hard but can still show

How the results will command the Leaders to know

You coded hard and came up with the answers

That the preliminary observations did not show.

The SAS coders can get lost in their code

They are warriors of a special kind

Extract, Transform, and Load they work

And none more enterprising will you find.

If you have a SAS coder for a friend

That is smart, creative and shrewd

Treat them right and you will find

That they will debug your queries for you.

These people have line after line of code

That you might not have ever seen

But once you get to know them and their code

You will wish you were part of the SAS IHUG Team.
