I would guess the double teardrop is a "fire" as in "hot topic", i.e. receiving lots of reads and/or responses.

As I write this there is a thread named Unable to connect to SAS Studio by rmossaad with 2 messages, last one being "yesterday".

Hi @PaigeMiller,

Good eye! @ChrisHemedinger just implemented these changes.

The tear drop indicates the question is from a first-time poster. Some folks have asked for the ability to see when someone posts for the first time, so they can welcome them or coach them, if needed. So that change was just made.

And I believe the text balloon indicates that this topic is a discussion thread. You'll likely see other images that indicate articles or blogs.
