How SAS provide custom reports out of bulk emails? How to connect the mail server?

SAS can read any kind of structured text files. So you do not "connect" to the mail server, but have it create log files that can be read into SAS.

SAS provides direct connection to databases (Oracle, MS SQL, DB/2, ODBC, ...) through the respective SAS/ACCESS modules.

do we have option to directly connect to mail server(outlook) from SAS.

SAS does not provide access methods typically used for mailservers, like IMAP or POP.

Only SMTP for sending emails is implemented through filename email.
