If by "Enterprise" you mean in fact "Enterprise Guide", that's Windows-only software, and you can't install it on MacOS. With Boot Camp and a Windows license, you can install it there.

Hi all,

I just got a new Mac and I am trying to set up SAS on my computer. I have a license for the software through my school and they gave me the download information and everything. It worked great on my old PC. Now when I am trying to set up SAS it is telling me that it is not compatible with the MacOS platform. I am wondering if there is any way to get the application working on my new Mac. I tried SAS University Edition in the past and found it really difficult to work with so I am trying to avoid that at all costs. I spoke with someone at support who implied that I would have to access SAS through so kind of terminal but didn't give me much information beyond that. Can anyone help?

Thanks!!

SAS UE does run on Mac OS - if you're a student use VMWare which you can get discounted and I have no issues with it. There's some minor limatations such as SAS/ETS (time series) and SAS/Graph (don't need anyways) that are missing.

Otherwise, you will need a Windows installation to run it on - you don't need to use terminal. I would still recommend getting VMWare, and creating a Windows Partition and then installing SAS that way. The issues with SAS UE, regarding file paths and such, will still exist in this installation, but the lack of modules (ETS/Graph) will not be an issue.

Hello @Ariella.

Indeed, it is not possible to install SAS EG on MacOS. The reason is quite technical, because there is no support on MacOS for .NET Framework-based applications (Microsoft).

However you can go for a Boot option as suggested or a Virtual Machine. I normally prefer to user and suggest a Virtual Machine because this will allow you to keep working normally on OSX while you have a window only for the Windows stuff such as EG.
