DCSUG presents: R Made Easier for SAS Users

DCSUG presents: R Made Easier for SAS Users

R offers SAS statistical programmers an opportunity to expand their programming skill set by applying new trending R language in data input, management, analysis and presentation. Many of the typical clinical trials workflow programming tasks can be accomplished in R. Making the migration to R can be challenging, unless you follow a path that ignores traditional data science trials and focus on SQL and database programming concepts. Smarter organizations and SAS programmers follow a guided journey to learn and apply best practices based on basic R base and tidyverse functions. Direct comparison of SAS data step and procedures helps to better understand how R processes data and data frame concepts.

Presented by Sunil Gupta

Sunil Gupta, MS, is an international speaker, best-selling author of five SAS books, and a global SAS/R Developer and CDISC SME and corporate trainer. Sunil is an advocate of CDISC automation and standardization with over thirty years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, Sunil is teaching Practical R for SAS Programmers and a CDISC online class at the University of California at San Diego at UCSD Extension. In 2019, Sunil published his fifth book, Clinical Data Quality Checks for CDISC Compliance Using SAS and in 2011, Sunil launched his unique SAS mentoring blog, SASSavvy.com, for smarter SAS searches and R-Guru.com for R Self-Study Class and Mentoring programming. Sunil has MS in Bioengineering from Clemson University and a BS in Applied Mathematics from the College of Charleston.
