I am have been able to attend this event today. Sorry to be so blunt....but I dont understand the point so far of SAS Explore. There is no opportunity to interact with the presenters at all. It feels like watching youtube videos but that's not fair to youtube. In youtube you have the can actually make comments. Lots of awesome topics but I'm just left with more questions than answers at the end of the day.

I have to agree. Great content, but I miss the opportunity to have Q&A and chat with presenters and attendees.

I think for last year's virtual SGF, there were pre-recorded presentations, but after most presentations the presenter was available live for text chat / Q&A.

Also at virtual SGF, there was a virtual demo-room, with lots of SAS employees participating. The demo room had a menu of chat-rooms, with a listing of topic area for each room, and participant counts. The demo-room is always a highlight of an in-person SAS conference, and the virtual demo-room was a highlight of virtual SGF for me.

I did read somewhere that some of the SAS Explore presentations have live Q&A, but I don't see an easy way to tell from the agenda which presentations will offer Q&A. So far every presentation I joined just had the emoticon responses, but no Q&A or even ability for audience to chat with each other.

My understanding is the only live aspects are the General Sessions moderated Q&A and the SAS Bowl trivia event where participants can text chat.

I agree with you about the SAS Explore platform compared to previous SAS Global Forum virtual events. Also while virtual conferences have benefits of consuming great content and no travel there tends to be little to no “conference” for candid conversations, serendipitous meetings, sharing ideas/views etc. Virtual conferences are more broadcast transmission events. I prefer the networking and miss engaging with the SAS community and friends like you. 🤗🐨
