Description

KB0042055: ReportServiceGroup fails to initialize and "DatabaseException...." occurs after upgrade to SAS® Viya® Stable 2025.07

Symptoms

In this scenario, the following symptoms occur:

SAS^® Visual Analytics reports stop responding during the Opening report step.
The sas-report-services-group pod fails to start.
Any table in the reportservicesgroup database schema might be impacted and referenced in an error.
Database Exceptions such as the following are present in the sas-report-services-group pod log:

liquibase.exception.DatabaseException: ERROR: could not create unique index "report_data_pk" Detail: Key (report_id)=(576160ef-d652-463c-b0dc-f0ada4a2fbd0) is duplicated. [Failed SQL: (0) ALTER TABLE reportservicesgroup.report_data ADD CONSTRAINT report_data_pk PRIMARY KEY (report_id)]

Affected Environments

You encounter this issue if the following is true:

You initially installed your SAS Viya LTS or Stable release at 2024.06 or earlier.
You upgrade to SAS Viya Stable 2025.07.
