I hate to see posts languish, but I have no idea about this one. I've seen @gwootton respond to several posts in this category (SAS Viya), but I'm probably going to get thrown out of SAS Communities if I keep bugging him. I suppose he can always just tell me to knock it off if I'm not being helpful. 🙂

Hi All,

In the Documentation Configuration screen you can edit the link of the "Help".

The default value is http://documentation.sas.com

Is there a way to change the link to a share folder?

I tried to add the path, but the system generates a link with additional parameters (such as requestor, landing page etc.)

Thanks,

Ido

It's helpful if it's not one of the boards I normally follow 🙂

The other options are to tell the documentation site which page it should surface based on the version of the software and which application and page the help link was called from. For example when I click help from the Environment Manager dashboard the URL is:
https://documentation.sas.com/?softwareId=ENVMGR&softwareVersion=3.4&requestor=inapp&locale=en&softwareContextId=envmgr_dashboard

I wasn't aware this could be modified, though I'd think if you supplied a URL that didn't understand these parameters it would ignore them.

Since it's building a URL and directing the browser to it, if you're trying to use a shared folder you might need to use the file:/// prefix.

OK, well, since I've seen you on the SAS Viya forum a few times, I'll take that as a hint to knock it off. 🙂

This question would be better addressed to SAS Tech Support given it relates to a specialist product.

You are correct, the parameters wasn't the issue. the URL will ignore them.
The reason file:/// wasn't worked, because I needed access from the web server to the folder.
Thanks @gwootton
