Upcoming Changes to Creative Format API

SAS 360 Match is introducing a new feature for creative formats that requires you to update your existing APIs before January 10, 2023.

The API to upload a creative format and format template using the Creative Format API has been enhanced to support the association of more than one format template with a creative format. If you use Creative Format APIs to manage your format templates, you must update programs to use the new APIs before January 10, 2023. The new feature enables you to associate up to 10 format templates with a creative format. The change enables you to create a single creative with different format representations. Match selects the format to serve based on the client’s needs.

If more than one format template is associated with a creative format, all but one of the templates must be associated with a target that does not overlap with the targets of other format templates.

For example, you can create a single creative format that supports multiple versions of VAST. Each target can specify a different version of VAST, allowing Match to choose the proper representation based on the client’s needs. This parameter can be supplied in the ad request or be dynamically created based on player or platform details using targeted supertags.

During the deprecation period, you can use either the new API or the old API for API requests. When the deprecation period ends, only the new API will be supported. Any creative format with more than one format template must use only the new API. The old API will not work with or manage creative formats with more than one format template
