It's time for the February edition of the SAS Viya Release Highlights Show, and our lineup this month is as sweet as finding your favorite candy for 50% off after Valentine's Day!

This month, we'll teach you all about containers and show you how to deploy and validate containerized SAS models into GCP in just a few clicks in this month’s Release Talk! With this latest release, support for deploying SAS models into a lightweight container is supported across GCP, Azure, AWS, and Private Docker Registries.

In the Rundown, hear about what’s new including GANs for synthetic data generation and reinforcement learning in SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning. Plus, in SAS Visual Forecasting, learn about interactive modeling and collaboration capabilities so you can work on modeling with your colleagues with ease.

Let's get into the details!

Here's what you'll see in the Rundown:

SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning:

You'll learn about GANs (generative adversarial networks) for synthetic data generation with TABULAR data, adding to our existing support for image data. So now when you need to expand your data sets, or perhaps increase the representation of a certain segment or group in your data, you can use this utility that intelligently generates observations based on existing variable distributions AND preserves correlations among variables.

Plus, get up to speed on reinforcement learning including image support - which you can use not only for teaching a machine to win at video games, but also for many real-world problems like self-driving cars that use images from video to understand and react to their surroundings.

To learn even more about these topics, check out this tutorial on how to build a custom environment in Python for reinforcement learning in SAS, plus a tutorial on how to create synthetic image data!

SAS Visual Forecasting:

Take a look at new functionality in the Interactive Modeling node in this Rundown video! This feature provides the ability to copy and then modify either a system generated or previously created custom Exponential Smoothing Model to create a new Exponential Smoothing Model.

And who doesn't want to be able to collaborate better? We've improved our
project collaboration and sharing capabilities. In addition to being able to see the other users who have a project open, you are now shown their level of access (read only or read/write) and the name of the tab they are on in the project.
