Here are some solid updates from last we wrote:

Games: Our Game Masters have been busy planning a variety of fun and engaging games for attendees of all ages! Want to bring your family along for a little vacation? Great! We even have games planned for the little ones to help engage everyone in the spirit of Mobile!

Mobile App: We have already started putting our mobile app together! This year we are using SwapCard. Stay tuned and/or visit our website for more information about how to use the app!

Sessions: Paper acceptances have gone out (obviously!) and deadlines are starting to march by. The SESUG authors are busy doing the final touches to their papers and presentations. From what we are seeing, there is going to be some GREAT CONTENT instore for you!

Grants: Our grant winners have been notified and are planning their trips. All awardees this year are also presenters, so please don’t miss their presentations!

Monday Night Event: The ship has been booked, the food has been ordered, and entertainment has been planned. Get ready for a fun night of networking with one of Mobile’s most decorated celebrities – the USS Alabama!

SAS Coding Event: If you have been to our website, you might have noticed the cryptic “SAS Coding Event” under the events tab. Are you curious? We are busy putting the final touches on this exciting new networking opportunity and hope you are ready for a fun hands-on data experience with a local impact!

Those are the big updates for now. There are so many other balls in the air that we are working through each day, but the above are the fun ones that we can report! Aside from these, we have been busy designing and ordering Thank You cards, ribbons, volunteer and committee gifts, signage, and decorations; updating the website as dates/times and events are confirmed; and working with our hotel on the finishing touches.

Speaking of the hotel, we are on our third point-of-contact with the hotel, which is requiring a significant amount of confirmations and back-tracking to make sure that the event goes off without a hitch. This is probably the biggest obstacle at this current stage, but one we are greeting with focus and determination.

We look forward to “seeing” you again at our next update! In the meantime, please make sure you check out the website, register for the conference, and book your hotel room before it is too late!
