There is an argument that the higher education sector could be facing its most challenging future. The cost of living crisis and its impact on institutions and students. The ongoing debate about the disconnect between higher education programs and industry skills requirements. And of course the explosion in alternate learning programs and the associated perceived value of traditional higher education programs when viewed against more agile and stackable learning pathways.
Education outreach
This year, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the challenges faced by the higher education sector and how the SAS Global Academic Program is supporting institutes. By investing in higher education partnerships, co-designing, co-developing and co-delivering innovative programs and collaborating with industry and academia to build programs that build teams that power analytical capability and innovation.
The higher education sector is experiencing change at an accelerating rate. Meaning the sector needs to work with industry partners who are used to engaging and innovating at pace. As a leader in AI and Analytics, and with an agile Global Academic Program that can quickly collaborate to develop innovate education programs, SAS is well placed to support the higher education sector.
At SAS, we continue to support education initiatives that promote learning for all. Building a global community of innovators, focused on closing the analytics skills gap, driving earlier interest in STEM and improving digital literacy. To support higher education design, develop and deliver high demand programs and to enable industry to access the talent ecosystem to address their demand for AI and analytical skilled employee’s.
Supporting higher education
The SAS Global Academic Program strives to support and promote learning of AI and analytic concepts and curriculum. By supporting universities across the world, our goal is to enable the future workforce. To achieve this, we invest in strategic partnerships. In Australia SAS collaborates with Torrens University where we have integrated industry certification pathways into the university’s Master of Business Analytics. With Melbourne Business School we have integrated AI and Analytics micro learning pathways into the Master of Business Analytics and are the founding part of the business schools Centre for Business Analytics. And with James Cook University we have worked to integrate the SAS Academy for Data Science into the Master of Data Science, enabling students such as Tim Bowtell to embrace the new opportunities that the digital economy brings.
By maintaining close ties with academia, the SAS Global Academic Program works to support:
- The development of industry’s AI and analytics culture and capability
- To enable higher education to embrace new directions in technology
- The development of the next generation of AI and digital technology workforce
- The growth of cross industry innovative research partnerships
