Changes to Geographical Data Set Effective for SAS® 360 Match on March 23, 2022

On March 23, 2022, SAS 360 Match will upgrade the geographical data set that is used to map IP addresses to improve geographical targeting based on IP address. This change will add nearly 3 million addressable zip codes and more than 140,000 cities to the data set.

The following changes will occur as part of these improvements:
• Some zip codes and cities are no longer targetable because there are no IP address ranges that map to those locations.
• The region identified as ehg is no longer targetable.
• The targetable values of conn-speed are limited to broadband, dialup, and ultrabb.

Customers who use geographical targeting based on zip code or city that include the surrounding areas are unlikely to be affected by the removal of these zip codes or cities.

However, if you use any of the data for targeting and want to verify whether changes are needed, contact SAS Technical Support to request a list of the values that are removed for each geographical attribute that is affected.
